So you are interested in buying a custom website, but before you commit to anything, you want to know exactly what you’ll be getting into, right? Below, we have our web design process broken down step-by-step.
Step 1: Initial Consultation
Sit down with one of our representatives at your place of work or wherever you feel comfortable. We will answer all of your questions, explain our good-better-best options, and help you find a solution that’s right for your business. We also research potential domain names (such as www.yourwebsitename.com) for your business and allow you to choose one. Our salespeople are not paid on commission, so there is no pressure to purchase something you don’t need or want.
After you choose the way we can best serve you, we go over our standard website design contract and explain everything in it and what it means (do you want to see our contract before meeting one of our representatives? You can view it by clicking here). Once that’s done, you only pay 50% of the total project up-front. The final 50% is not due until your project is complete and you are thrilled with the results.
Step 2: Website Design
Once you choose to move forward with the project, you are assign a personal website and graphics designer. This person will be your contact through the rest of the project, and will use the information gathered through the consultation, as well as input from you, to create a “draft” site. Your website draft will be uploaded to an online draft site (such as www.yourwebsitename.com/draft) so you can watch your website as it’s being built and offer any input you have to your designer.
During this stage we set up your email and provide you with a login to your site analytics, so you can see who is visiting your site, when, and what areas of your site are most popular. We also optimize your site for search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, Bing, and others.
You can have as many as 3 complete drafts, so you can fine tune your online image. We tweak and ponder and review and update, and once you’ve told us that we got it right, we are ready for the final step!
Step 3: Going Live
After you are thrilled with the results of your new site, we collect the final 50% and “Go Live” with your website. It’s now up and running, showcasing your company to the world. And if you ever need anything in the future, we are right here waiting to serve you.
